Top Two Year Colleges in Iowa

AIB College of Business, Ellsworth Community College, Kirkwood Community College

Set in the heart of the United States’ Midwest, Iowa is right in the middle of what is endearingly termed the “American Heartland.” A little known fact about Iowa is that its name comes from an indigenous tribe, the Ioway people, who occupied the area when the first Europeans entered the zone. Once a French colony, today Iowa enjoys a largely agricultural economy as a US state set right along the prime zone of the ‘Corn Belt.’ With an ever diversifying cultural and economic landscape, Iowa is growing in many ways including the manufacturing, financial, processing, biotechnology and green energy production industries. In many of its green industries and technologies, Iowa is surpassing other parts of the country in environmentally friendly practices and policies. From capitol city Des Moines to the heart of the rolling plains, Iowa is one great place to live, work or study!
